Unfortunately, far too little is written about photography itself these days. About the motivations, the thoughts, the concepts. There is too little exchange, even though this is precisely how we could grow together, by being confronted with new ways of thinking and new perspectives.
I noticed this again recently on social media: Bluesky is developing into a gathering place for people who, for understandable reasons, no longer want to use X or Instagram. This has led to a peculiar mix of accounts that either use the platform purely as a portfolio or, for example, for those who want to talk about their art. And I notice how the pure, wordless image accounts eventually just bore me.
But what is the point of lamenting if you don’t lead by example? I write about these topics regularly in my blog (sorry, German language), but I would also like to make them available collectively.
Since the printed zine is only available in German, I wanted to make it accessible in English, at least digitally.
