The goal of this recipe was warm, retro tones with a slight glow and softness, with sharp features like eyes. As always, the same applies to all JPEG recipes: they are like a cooking recipe. Of course, you can always adjust them to suit your own taste, for example, in this case, playing around with the clarity or adding grain.
All images shown here are unedited. Only the JPEG recipe was applied. The cameras were a Fujifilm X-T4, X-T5 and GFX100S.
Adding vintage glass to the mix further enhances the retro vibe. The very soft images were taken with a Minolta Varisoft 85/2.8 on a GFX100S (more about soft focus lenses here), the swirled image was taken with a 35KP 120mm projection lens on the GFX100S. (Links are Google translated)
Alternatively, filters can also be used in front of existing lenses, as here a Softar in front of a Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM on a GFX100S. Read more about soft focus filters in this blog post.
